WHAT IS KICKBOXING?

  • Traditional Kickboxing is a combat sport where two opponents engage in stand-up style striking matches with the goal of sufficiently injuring, or knocking out, their challenger. In cardio Kickboxing, there is no contact between participants; instead, the goal of practicing Kickboxing moves and techniques is purely personal, achieving increased mental and physical fitness.

  • Kickboxing involves long-range attack and defense with punching, kicking, and knee strikes. Largely influenced by Boxing, Kickboxing utilizes Boxing’s 4 basic pouches (jab, cross, hook, uppercut), in addition to more advanced punching techniques such as the spinning back fist and superman punch. Various kicking techniques, such as jump, roadhouse body, and high and low kicks, combined with punching, elbows, and knees in Kickboxing make it a broad and dynamic sport. In cardio Kickboxing, moves and techniques are practiced on heavy bags or with partners in sparring.
